A Micro Poetic Way To God

1.

The leaves of a rowan
newly sprouted   in the rain
along the river

2.

Through the veils of rain
a round-tower stands   unmoved
down the centuries

3.

Tumbling down mountains
the streams into Glendalough
lakes full to the brim

4.

All along the road
the gorse in bloom   weighted
by recent rain

5.

Equally cheerful
coming and going   the driver
of the country bus

6.

The well-kept gardens
around the country houses
colourful in Spring

7.

The last patch of snow
on the sombre mountain-side
beyond the farthest house

8.

Houses on the hill-sides
overlooking the vallies   fields
alive with Spring lambs

9.

Innocent faces
of the lambs who stop to look
at you who pass by

10.

Swinging in the breeze
the filaments in clear bulbs
still alight at dawn

11.

In that other light
the portrait of a grown man
in union with God

12.

Aware of the light
of the eternal presence
