The Light of the World:
A Micro Poetic Way To God

1.

Thrown by the road-side
a silken floral arrangement
slowly fades away

2.

The floor of the wood
under inches of water
the heavy Spring rain

3.

When the sun comes out
the gorse and the river-bed
become one colour

4.

The natural fords
here and there along the stream
the ancient trails end

5.

Gouged out of a slope
the site for a new cottage
forlorn in the rain

6.

The sound of the streams
flowing into the river
as in St Kevin's time

7.

After all these years
the memory of Jesus
alive here on earth

8.

St Kevin's old road
as lonely as ever   the wind
through the swaying trees

9.

A chapel recalls
with the living bread   the life
of Jesus on earth

10.

The call to return
to the love of God   for all
without exception

11.

A trail of belief
wandering thro' the centuries
lives laid down for love

12.

The word of welcome
the embrace of Christ   for all
who would return home
